Character bashing is a huge, huge turn-off for me, no matter what the character. I've actually been known to like characters more after seeing them bashed, because I end up feeling sorry for them.
Look, it's not the end of the world if you can't stand a character. Really. We can still be friends. Just have a little respect for them, even if you don't like them, okay? A character never did anything to you.
(If you agree, please feel free to spread this around.)
(Sorry if this hit your devwatch twice. I changed my mind about the preview and couldn't see how to fix it except by deleting the deviation. )
Edit: Holy crap, you guys. I've been trying to respond to all comments on this one because it's that important to me, but y'all just keep coming! I can't keep up! I'm really glad this is being so well-received, and I very much appreciate all your comments, even if I can't respond to them all.
DAMN STRAIGHT.
The only character I don't like is Xaldin, but that's only because he beat me up so much and I had to level up to 50 (at least) to beat him.
He's a pimp, though. Roses in one hand and Belles in the other XD
Fav'rit'd
Wouldn't we all like to tell Xaldin where he can stick those lances? XD *got saved by King Mickey twice... in the same battle* But yeah, you gotta respect his ass-kickin' skills, at least.
o.o!
My god... someone actually agrees with me for once!
One of the things I cannot stand is when people see characters through rose, or puke, colored glasses. I mean, the fop's a decent person, if a bit snobbish at times, and Erik's a freaking murderer, no matter how romantic he is!
...*bricked by all the PotO Phans*
Seriously, though, this deserves a fav, and to be spread around to everyone I know. ^^

I think I may be guilty of the idealizing characters myself, a little, because I so rarely find a character I don't like. But I do always try to understand them first, and what makes them tick.
And there's some characters who are horrible people that I love the hell out of because they're so entertaining as characters. (See: Professor Hojo, Magus.) XD
I guess my philosophy is it's better to give characters a chance and see what's good about them, rather than just shooting them down.
Oh, man, I'd be thrilled and flattered if you do spread this around.
Hm...
She is the reason that nothing is like before... she is the reason that riku suffered so long... this is not nice...
